PhotonFirst Fiber Based Temperature Sensor

An FBG-based optical fibre temperature sensor supplied with PhotonFirst's fibre integration and asset-embedding services.

PhotonFirst Fiber Based Temperature Sensor

Technical overview

PhotonFirst lists a fibre based temperature sensor as one of four sensor types in its portfolio, but publishes no per-sensor datasheet, part number or specification table. At company level PhotonFirst states that its fibre optic systems can measure temperature from -270 C up to 800 C by analysing FBG wavelength shifts. Sensors are normally delivered as part of an engineered integration into the customer's asset rather than as a stocked item.

Features

  • FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) based
  • Multiple sensing points on one fibre
  • Passive component without EMI
  • Can be embedded in structures and composites
  • Supplied with PhotonFirst fibre integration and training services
