FiberStrike Linear Heat Series DTS (Distributed Temperature Sensing / Linear Heat Detection)
A distributed temperature sensing controller and passive sensor cable that measures temperature continuously along a fiber, used for linear heat / fire detection and continuous asset temperature monitoring.
Technical overview
The Linear Heat Series device supports up to four channels over a monitoring range of up to 10 km with spatial resolution down to 0.5 m, and provides 44 extendable relay outputs and four inputs with 256 user-definable zones carrying 5+2 alarm criteria. Interfaces are USB, Ethernet and Modbus TCP. The sensor cable is a completely passive fiber optic cable rated to -40 to +85 (150) degrees C. CEL states the DTS retains monitoring capability at temperatures up to 750 C / 1382 F and carries VdS EN 54-22, UL521, ULC S530, FM 3210, ATEX II(1) GD M2, KFI, CCC and SIL2 certifications. The same platform underpins CEL's CBTM bus duct and CSTM switchgear temperature monitoring offerings.
